Class FAQ

Prepare to Get Messy

Throwing pottery is messy business! We provide aprons for use in our studio, but be prepared to get a wide variety of clay and materials on yourself. Please bring a change of clothes if this is a concern. Our clay is high in iron so many white or light fabrics will stain. We have private bathrooms available for changing. Please note fake nails and wheel throwing do not mix!

Studio Etiquette and Missed Classes

We are inviting you into our production house and studio home in downtown Springfield. We ask for everyone to be respectful of our studio environment, value the people around our workspace, and listen to our instructors. Please return all tools to their buckets and clean any large messes at the request of the instructor. Please reschedule classes through our website. No refunds or credits will be applied for missed classes. Cancellations within 2 days of the class are not refundable.

Firing Finished Pieces and the Kiln

Each class entitles you to a number of finished pieces. It is our goal to fire all of your work but some pieces may not be suitable for firing due to thickness, unfinished edges, or construction issues. Our instructors will determine which pieces can and can not be fired. We have a handful of glazes to select from in a variety of colors, we do not allow external glazes for our class series. Work from classes has a 2-3 week turn around depending on the season. We will let you know via email when your pieces are ready.
